I'm super-envious of artists (Mahfood) who can go straight (Mahfood) to ink (ahem... Jim Mahfood) since I'm not one of them. It used to really bother me until I heard an interview with James Kochalka and he says that he still pencils all his daily strips. If that dude, after all this time and practice, still needs to pencil... that's good enough for me, too.

that would be awesome to just go straight to ink, I need to work on that, I feel like sometimes when I pencil it makes my work look kinda rigid, and I totally love the free style of just going for it, but then when it looks like shit afterwards I would rather have just penciled first

THat's genius!!! Why didn't we think of that. Penciling is for SUCKERS!!!!(I mean yer just gonna erase it anyway right?....RIGHT?!!

The thing with going straight to ink, for me anyway, is that it takes half the time but twice as much concentration. I don't enjoy the drawing quite as much as I would like to
