When I finished this comic, I read it and realized that I drew my left eye. I'm pretty sure it's because I draw myself how i see myself in a mirror. It's the same reason why I always draw myself left handed.

Brush talk

I'm really into drawing utensils, I love trying new pens, I love hearing what people use, I love going to art stores and buying stuff. I first heard about Widsor & Newton'sSeries 7 brushes in an interview with Jeff Smith, because it's what he uses. I couldn't justify spending that much on a brush (around $30), so I just kept using my cheap brushes and kept saying I would eventually get a nice one. After I used one for the first time yesterday, it was obvious that it is far superior to any brush I've ever used, BUT I still think I prefer my Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, which kind of bums me out! Samantha bought me the Pocket Brush Pen for Christmas after I told her I wanted one (because it's what Craig Thompson uses), and I thought it would be the perfect travel brush. Turns out it is the perfect anytime brush and it's all I use anymore, and I was hoping getting the Series 7 brush would change that. It's just crazy that a portable brush, that you never have to clean or physically dip into ink, that only costs $12, could be the best brush I've ever used. Long story short: BUY ONE OF THESE!!!

Not for Kids

I've been using a new Copic marker for the past few days. I really like the marker (it's awesome you can refill the ink and it's oval shape so it doesn't roll off the table), but whenever i scan it it looks all grainy. It sucks because I really don't like using prismacolors, They're like $4 each and I have to replace them every couple weeks. Any ideas or suggestions? I don't want to use ink wash because i want it to be very evenly applied and consistent, and I want to do it by hand, not on the computer.

HERE'S A VIDEO of the eat Your Art Out art show I was in in LA. THIS IS THE PAINTING that I did for the roller-derby themed show. It looks like it was super fun! Haha and they show my painting for a second with my name and it says that the medium for the painting was mixed media (?), i just used inks, and it says I'm from North Carolina (?). I guess I used to live in South Carolina, so it's pretty close...? haha it's still cool though.
