AZ Wedding MEGA-POST #1

Me and Samantha just got back from a week or so in Arizona to go to JON and Stephanie's Wedding! It was an awesome trip.

I'll post the second half of the week tomorrow!

IN OTHER NEWS: I was featured on a blog called VIS A TERGO. It's a blog that showcases a poet, writer and cartoonist every other week. CHECK IT OUT!

I'm leaving to go to Arizona today for JON'S wedding! So, it will probably be a while before I post anything.

Obsessed and Figure Studies

I went to a figure studies session last night with Noah Van Sciver (who makes super rad comics). It was a pretty good one. My warm up drawings are crappy so I'm not going to post those, but I did bring a piece of illustration board so I could use some watercolors instead of highlighters like last week.

I hate the feeling of taking your socks off and putting them back on again.

Samantha's back and PHX con (finally...)

So I was like 25 minutes late to pick up Samantha because I was partying at KILGORE, a really badass local used book/zine/comic store. What a bastard I am.

I've been WAY to lazy to post this pics from Phoenix Comic Con, so I'm forcing myself to do it now. Me and Jon made a ton of small skeches/watercolor paintings and were selling then for super cheap! Here's some of mine:

Jeez I'm so bad at taking pictures. That last one of Ash is Jon's. Here's some more of Jon's:

Haha I love that Brock! The colors are so perfect on that one.

There were also some famous dudes there, like Levar Burton:

But more importantly, Aaron Douglas, who plays the chief on Battlestar Galactica! He signed the little painting I did of him (for Samantha) because I gave him Sharker!

Jon made a pretty sweet interpretation of Lou Ferrigno, who was there too, but I don't have it. Check Jon's post, with a ton more (better) pics RIGHT HERE!

Thanks PHX con! See you next year!

Cut offs and Video Interview!

Me and JON had a small interview on a video podcast while we were at the PHX con. I still need to post a bunch of pictures from that. Anyways, we're at the 17 minute mark, where you can see that they misspelled my name and didn't put our sites on the screen! jeez. Anyways it's still pretty fun to see yourself on video.

Tired and Figure Studies

I went to a figure studies class last night. The one I used to go to in Columbia had easels set up so people could paint, but at this one it's just chairs, so I pretty much just draw in my sketch book. The first one is short warm-up poses, the second one is 8 or so minute poses, and the last one is 15 minute poses. I kinda ruined the second one with the highlighters, but I think I'm going to try that again next time with watercolors!

The first year of my daily auto-bio comic is finally collected in one sweet, sweet package! It's 7" x 7" with over 100 pages (ok, 104 pages, but still, that's over 100) jam packed with comics. Here's what the cover and back cover look like:

There's even a couple COLOR pages in there!

Even if you've read all of my comics since day one, there's some new content, and a few fun surprises! And chances are you've missed a few anyways. But the best part is... IT'S ONLY $6 BUCKS! Wow! Since it's really big and heavy, I'm going to charge $1.50 for shipping instead of my usual $1. I just added the paypal button on the sidebar, so go get you some! woooooooooooooooo!

Also, I dropped the price of the small painting to $4 with 50 cents shipping, because they are going to be even smaller now (3.5" x 2.5"). If you order one, let me know what you want me to paint for you!

Arizona MEGA Post

For the most part, the Phoenix Comic-con was a success! Thanks to Jon, Stephanie, Casey and Ashley for letting me stay at their houses and driving me everywhere! I'm super bummed to leave, but at least me and Samantha are driving back in a few weeks for Jon and Steph's wedding! Pics of the Con COMING SOON, as well as my new Spinadoodles: the fist year book that I debuted there!
