Free Comic Book Day...

...was yesterday, but i forgot until I made this comic.

Since it was free comic day I decided to put up my submission to the Always Comix anthology. I made this in December or January and wanted to wait to see if I got in the anthology or not before I posted it on here, but oh well. The theme for the book was "numbers," so here it is:

Also, when I was looking for this comic I stumbled upon this cover I made for my girlfriends sister. She interviewed me about comic for an art class and asked if I could throw something together real quick, haha:

That's also from the beginning of this year.

I think it's particularly epic that you put in a page of the fictional number solving tweens. It was like the gooey center of a jelly filled doughnut. I think every time I hear "whats 9+7" I'll have to answer 14.

I've been telling everybody for years: beware of janitors wearing eye-patches. They're always up to no good. I'll watch out for those Number Tweens on Nickelodeon or the Cartoon Network soon. Awesome submission!

Oh, and did you go out and get some free comics yesterday?

OMGosh! Where do I start!? Love the numbers comics, I'm so good at math I actually understood it... ;-) You have the best drunk eyes. And on your interview thing, you gave yourself a halo... hmmm, what does that mean?

thanks for the treat on free comics day, the second best day of the year (the first being my birthday).

You're comics are among my very very favorite of all. I think you have surpassed James Kochalka for me and I love him.

I genuinely laughed at those darn numbers kids! - truly awesome strip - SO very very funny! :D I wish my unoriginality for comics was as original as yours! I'm glad I didn't have to pay for that jem! x

wow the comments are extra nice today! thanks so much everyone! no matt, i didnt go to any shops yesterday to get some free comics, did you? and i totally agree with you on american elf being a gateway drug, and i've discovered countless awesome auto-bio comics from the spinadoo sidebar! You have the best catalog of unknown comic dudes on the internet!

And i really want to make a whole mini-comic about team numberz! haha i wonder if the "bad math" joke would go stale if i made a 20-30 page story about it.

I though the countdown numbers really tied it together.

haha this was such an awesome piece man! I love how it all came together in the end as an auto-bio!

Sam, the numbers thing wouldn't get stale for awhile... I think it has some life in it for sure. I showed it to my hub and Nate and they guffawed!! So, for sure you have something there. I say, go for it!
