The November Readings

On my Christmas trip across the East Coast (comics will be posted when I get home), I had the pleasure of staying with Samantha's sister and niece a few times this past week in Charlotte. While we were there, I recorded Anna reading an entire month of my daily comics. The recording is 12 minutes long, so press play, sit back, follow along if you want to, and be sort of creeped out as a 12-year-old girl reads a 23-year-old boys feelings. I present to you, the November readings.

Selling CDs / TDC Christmas card

Am I surprised or disappointed in the last panel? Hmm...

Last week I was asked to Illustrate Tyler Dominic Creative's (a local design firm) Christmas card that they send to all their clients. They came up with the idea of being elves while Santa holds them holding all of their vices. It was a fun project and I'm pretty happy with the result.

First I doodled the initial sketch in my sketchbook:

Then I vectorized my original sketch:

And finally added some texture in photoshop:

I've been seeing a bunch of really really amazing vector illustrations lately and really wanted to give it a try. I'll post again when it finally gets printed!

I'm currently out of town for the holidays so updates are going to be few and far between, but the next one is a pretty awesome one!

Snorlax/ Bryce/ Fig. Stud/ Sharker

A few days ago I got my Chicago friend Bryce's new book CROSSED DIAGONALS. The production on it is incredible (hand bound perfect binding?! Hand made envelope?!) and the illustrations are mind blowing!

He only made 40 of them so go to his site and get one FAST! Totally worth it. He also ripped out a page from his sketchbook and sent it to me! He draws with like a .ooo1 pt. pen:

MAN his stuff rules.

I also went to a figure studies class a couple days ago.

To see all of those from that class check my FLICKR PAGE.

And last but CERTAINLY not least, check out this SUPER BADASS Sharker that my cartoonist friend JASON BRADSHAW sent me!

It looks like a real cartoon! Wow. He's been doing an awesome daily comic for a few months, check it HERE, and of course, my comic SHARKER THE FORGOTTEN is still available for purchase on the right side of the page. I'm selling them at the low low price of only $3 on black Friday! And every other day.
