B-day post

Welp, I turned 22 today. Check out this awesome card and painted-on picture PATRICK gave me:

I like that he drew me how I draw myself (he did point out that it looks like Denis the menace, which i don't look like at all in real life, but oh well). He even made my arms noodley and my fingers pointy like I do! Nice attention to detail. PATRICK also turned 22 two days ago, and today is my old roomate RACHEL'S and a girl I work with LIZBETH'S birthday too, so it's pretty much birthday week.

HeroesCon 2009

This was the first year I went to HeroesCon in Charlotte (a comic book convention). I'm so mad at myself for not really getting into comics sooner because it was so awesome. I met a ton of cool people and traded mini comics with most of them! I went with 50 of my hoodle books and 25 of my diary comic books and left with two backpacks full of other peoples stuff! i only bought like five or six things in this picture (the big books):
I also bought Jeff Smith's (of BONE fame) new book RASL and got him to sign it:
And got a few sketches from people: including CHRIS G who draws MINI MARVELS, an awesome sketch byGUY DAVIS who draws the Hellboy spin-off B.R.P.D., who drew one of his monsters touching Hoodle (yes!), and a very cute sketch for Samantha by CHRISTIAN SLADE who draws KORGI.

Thanks to everyone who I talked to and who traded with me! what a good weekend. And here are my regularly scheduled diary comics:

Lizzy

Also today was the first day of Heroescon in Charlotte! sooooooooo awesome. Hearing Jeff Smith talk was crazy. full report when i'm back home.

Hoodle Origins!

I FINALLY finished Hoodle Origins yesterday and spent all day composing it and putting them together. I just finished and took pics (at 3 am...)!

So I printed 50 of Hoolde Origins (yellow) and 25 of my diary comic ones (orange) for the HeroesCon in Charlotte tomorrow. I'm pumped to go to a comic convention. I'm selling the Hoodle book for $3, its 24 pages black and white with cardstock cover. I feel like it's too expensive, but it cost so much to print them and took like a month of my life to make. Also while I was cutting them I cut my finger really bad and bled on a few. some are very small, one had blood all over it (i'm keeping that one for myself) and one had a blood smudge that i made a special edition:
Haha. So contact me if you want one! I'm down to mail it to out-of-townies!

Here's a really stupid old picture I found on my computer. I can't open photoshop to resize my daily comic because they said registration expired. When i go to register it online they say i already did and can't do it again. I'm go to explode from anger.

Bookmarks and Watercolors

It's another day without a scanner, so no diary comic. here's some other stuff:

These are two small watercolors I did. I gave the one of Sharker to Erin, and was going to give the other one to someone else but decided not too. I am going to make more little monster paintings once I'm done with this hoodle comic (only 6 pages left!).

These are some bookmark/business cards I made for my girlfriends mom, Toni. Her paintings are cool.

Hoodle Origins Sneak Peek

I have been slaving away the last couple of weeks on a new 24 page comic called "Hoodle Origins." Here's a picture of the first three pages of the comic in my sketchbook, I am working on page 17 today so I'm almost finished. I'm trying to get it done before the Charlotte comic convention, which starts friday, and i also need to make the cover and do all the printing and stuff so I'm pretty stressed about it. anyways, it's the weekend so the schools scanner is closed and i didn't go yesterday so no diary comic today. If i cant find anything else to talk about tomorrow I will just take a picture of one.

Mckenna did one too. It's not up yet but when it is go to Fecalface.com and comment to say whose is the best!

Big Johns Fry House

I must have been in a bad drawing mood when I drew this, because that's a terrible Patrick. doesn't look anything like him. He took a picture of what was left of that lunch ON HIS BLOG, along with a horrific picture of his sisters messed up leg. While you're checking out my friends blogs, look at this colabo i did with Erin.

Also, I think I have to buy a Ps3 for this game. I've probably watched this trailer a million times. ok, like 4.

Blog Challenge Day 1!

I accepted the blog challenge put on by this Awesome Blogs website. The challenge is to do one blog post a day for the month of June. Shouldn't be hard.
