After the show at Indie Grits

Indie Grits 2

I did some live paintings at an indie grits show. It was the first time I have ever done that. I learned a lot and am pumped to do it again and hopefully a little better. I used house paint because I thought it would be cheap and thick, but some colors were super watery unless you dipped your brush deep, so needless to say it was very messy. I kinda low balled myself and sold both for really cheap, but it was one of the main organizers for indie grits, so I didn't feel bad. Both are 2' x 2' house paint on wood.

Character Design Made Easy: a lesson by Sam Spina

Making characters is easy! Just follow these 8 simple steps:

1. Get inspired by something you see everyday, like a shape or something. Here's a part of my bed:

2.Write it down or draw it so you remember it:

3. Doodle something based on what you wrote or drew earlier:

4.Name your new character:

5.Draw him, like, a million times:

6.Make a small poster or flier (whatever you feel) so regular people will know about and care for him:

7.Now just embrace your new character forever!
